Manila Divisoria to Puerto Princesa {Day 2} August 15th}

We woke up early on Wednesday morning not yet adjusted to the time difference. So Mark and Monica took the boys for an early morning swim in the hotel pool. While swimming they discovered a lizard and a
cockroach.

Around 7 AM the family gathered for a Filipino buffet breakfast. The menu included pancakes, omelets, toast, sardines, noodle soup, mango, fruit salad in juice and a few other Filipino dishes I can not remember.

We had a 9 am appointment with Divisoria, the Bargain Shopping Haven of the Philippines. We were told we could find anything under the sun at Divisoria. We were also told to hold tight to our belongings because this is a popular location for thieves and pick pockets. This place was massive and we were not able to see everything it the few hours that we were there. Luckily none of us fell victim to a pick pocket. While at Divisoria I bought 2 dresses, 3 belts, a necklace, angry birds toys for the boys, 2 purses, 3 Ralph Lauren Polo shirts, and a pair of NIKE yoga pants. I spent about $45.

Mark, Matthew and Merritt left Divisoria early to meet up with family. Here are some pictures of them getting in a Tricycle .

Merritt is not so sure about this ride.

The rain poured down for a little over an hour, but that was all we had to see of it that day.

After the Divisoria we had to catch a plane ride on CeBu Air to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. I took a few pictures of the busy Manila streets on the way to the airport.
This is a Jeepney. It is like a Taxi in the Philippines.

 It is not uncommon to see people hanging off the end of a Jeepney like you can see in this picture above.
This was the K.K.K. Monument. K.K.K. was the acronym for Katipunan. The Katipunan was a Philippine revolutionary society founded by anti-Spanish Filipinos in Manila in 1892, which aimed primarily to gain independence from Spain through revolution. Initially, Katipunan was a secret organization until its discovery in 1896 that led to the outbreak of Philippine Revolution.

The flight from Manila to Puerta Princessa was just over an hour. So it was pretty easy for our crew. The flight was only about $40, so it was cheap too.

When we landed in Puerto Princesa it was almost dinner time so we headed straight to dinner.

We ate dinner at Shakey's pizza and favorite of Jordan's. We ordered the Cheese Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Pizza Bianca and Hi Protein Supreme. The favorite was the Pizza Bianca with creamy white sauce, bacon, ham, peppers, mushrooms, cheddar and parmesan cheese. It was mom's Birthday so they brought her a special ice cream treat.
